HAND-SIGNED BY THE ARTIST AND BY 15 ALLIED AND GERMAN BATTLE OF BRITAIN PILOTS/AIRMEN - A UNIQUE PIECE WITH NOW IMPOSSIBLE TO ACQUIRE SIGNATURES. COULSON Gerald, English aviation and landscape artist. Original limited edition lithographic print, on thick semi-gloss paper.

Lettering above and beneath the image, giving title, artist and other publishing details:'High Spirits 1940' by Gerald Coulson, G. Published in 1992 by Solomon & Whitehead (Guild Prints) Ltd. Numbered in pencil in bottom right margin, 640 of 850 published.

Hand-signed by the artist and, at a later event, by 15 British and German Battle of Britain pilots/airmen. Solomon & Whitehead official blind-stamp in bottom left margin. White margins - 48.2cm x 39.4cm / picture, exc. White margins - 40.6cm x 30.6cm.

Just one or two almost completely indiscernible light marginal creases. Never been mounted or framed, so free from any mounting marks or residue. Seemingly never been rolled and apparaently stored in a folder since it was acquired, so no sun/UV damage. Please ask if you require a more detailed condition report, or view gallery images.

A fabulous, possibly unique, example of this famous print, from one of the signing events held by the Military Gallery or similar, in the 1990s/early 2000s. As well as being hand-signed by much-admired aviation artist Gerald Coulson, this limited edition print is also hand-signed by 15 Battle of Britain pilots/airmen, including at least two Luftwaffe pilots. Rather than naming them all individually, we are showing high-res images of the signatures (many with squadron numbers alongside). Provenance: from a single private collection of multi-signed aviation prints.

The collection was accompanied by receipts made out in the name of the same collector, and a few came with letters from the artists, brochures etc. If any such documentation is related to this print, we will include a copy for its new owner.
