T his is a 16 by 20 inch oil painting on wood board entitled on the back "New Mexico High Country" and done by New Jersey listed artist Armando Sozio in August of 1962. It is beautifully done in what combines impressionism and expressionism. It is in excellent condition. The photos tell the story.
A long-time instructor at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, Armando Sozio was born in 1897 and based in South Orange, New Jersey. He studied at the Faucett School of Fine and Industrial Arts, the National Academy of Design and New York University.
Memberships included the Associated Artists of New Jersey, Allied Artists of America and the New Jersey Watercolor Society.
