These shoes were won at a NBA Gala event benefiting the Charlotte Hornets Foundation in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 19th. Only 300 of these Air Jordan 1s were produced. Of the 300 made, 65 were auctioned off, 10 were put up for raffle, and the others were given away by Jordan. Back in February, Michael Jordan was spotted in a never-before-seen pair of Air Jordan 1s with quilted uppers at NBA All-Star weekend in Charlotte.

In celebration of NBA All-Star 2019, which took place in Charlotte in February, Hornets Chairman Michael Jordan designed this Limited Edition Air Jordan 1 Retro OG. The shoe features nods to the city of Charlotte and both NBA All-Star Games held there, 1991 and 2019. Quilted leather wraps the toe and heel, while traditional leather is used to construct the rest of the pair. Each comes complete with a silver NBA All-Star hang tag and special tongue tag donning a logo inspired by the 1991 NBA All-Star Game branding. Michael Jordan played 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls. Jordan is the principal owner of the Charlotte Hornets.
