During the 1953 school year, Elvis Presley would graduate from High School and sign his first recording contract. At 10 years old the shy Elvis was given a guitar, much to his original dismay as he had hoped for a hunting gun. The choice of present had proven correct, and the future King of Rock N Rolls life path had begun. Another Memphis resident, Dwight Malone, would be buddies with one of Americas greatest icons.

For sale is Dwight Malones personal 1953 the Herald high school yearbook. Dwight was quite popular, as scores of classmates signed his yearbook and added personal notes. In the seniors section, Elvis Presley is pictured wearing a dark suit, white shirt, and formal tie.

His biographical information is listed as: Presley, Elvis Aron. Activities: ROTC, Biology Club, English Club, History Club, Speech Club.

Elvis, like most of his classmates, obliged Dwight and signed the book. Best of everything to a swell guy, Elvis.

The signature is in blue ink, and is very strong and bold. The penning of this signature makes this one of the earliest known Elvis autographs. On page 33, Elvis was mentioned, and it gives us a glimpse of his immediate future. It reads, We are reminded at this time to not forget to invite you all out to the Silver Horse on Onion Avenue to hear the singing Hillbillies of the road. Elvis Presley, Albert Teague, Doris Wilburn, and Mary Ann Propst are doing a bit of picking and singing.

A hand written note from the original owner is included which reads, Elvis signed my annual during the last days of May, 1953 which was a few days prior to our high school graduation.
